| Our Coffees |
Drink Coffee. Do Good.We have a small variety of the best gourmet coffees from around the World. We offer several Organic and Fair-Trade offerings which are Roasted Locally, Ground just before being brewed at the perfect temperature with double filtered water. And that is why our coffee both in the store or at home is so dog-gone tasty! Our Variety Changes from time to time, but we always have a few Mild. Medium, and a few Bolder Coffees. We believe in Fair-Trade, and try to buy coffee with this certification if it makes sense, but even fair-trade only guarantees that these coffee farmers receive about $1.20 per pound for all of their painstaking efforts for growing the coffee that we can't live without, that is why at The Corner Perk $1 from every pound of coffee that we sell goes straight to help coffee farmers in impoverished coffee growing regions. I like to call this beyond fair-trade and it applies to every type of coffee that we sell from Espresso to Decaf. That is why you hear us say from time to time, Drink Coffee. Do good.
MildOrganic Fair-Trade Honduras Honey This is Kali's (My Wife) and many other's favorite coffee, because it is not to strong, has no bitterness, and is silky smooth like honey. It goes great with a buttered bagel or Low-fat Peach Muffin! Columbian Huila Peaberry This is one of my favorite coffees that is why it is part of my Josh's Blend. It is very rich in flavor and has a more full-bodied taste, but is still not too strong or acidic. It is also fun to look at, because the shape and size of the bean is much different from any other coffee we offer. That is why it is called a peaberry. The beans are small and rounded like a shiny brown pea, these are the ones we feed annabelle our mascot. Now you know why she is so crazy.
MediumSumatra Sunrise A great Way to start you Morning! Did you know that this popular and delicious coffees was grown in the hills of some small south-Pacific Islands know as Indonesia, the Mandheling region to be precise. Well, wherever they are the sure know how to plant, grow, and harvest a nice cup of joe! Hats off to your local roaster as well, Thanks Kurt. But seriously we brew this coffee a lot, because its popular and good, similar to the Ethiopia in many ways, but with more of a berry taste. Ethiopia Harrar Not to be confused with Ethiopia Horror, that would be a terribly long running war, mass poverty, and starvation, all things that we would like to see change. Their coffee on the other hand is fantastic and quite delightful. It is a good strong medium coffee, with some light acidity. Goes great with our amazing new Iced Lemon Mini-Loaf, or a Lemon Poppyseed Muffin. Josh's Blend I can give away my secret blend, but I can tell you it is part Columbian and part Sumatra, with the possibility of a little something else in there, no it not crack, despite all of the rumors. This blend is a great all-around coffee, not too weak or too strong, medium-bodied, but silky smooth like the delicate touch of a beautiful woman. Goes great with a White Chocolate Raspberry Muffin.
BoldOrganic Fair-Trade Rwandan This is a brand new offering, which I can't wait to try. We should be getting some in soon. Organic Zimbabwe Stampede The Stampede is a stronger coffee, that is well rounded, it has a nice full flavor, balanced acidity, and the ability to wake you up no matter what you did last night, but it almost our strongest cup. Goes great with our Cinnamon Coffee Cake Muffin. Malawii Wowwee A Nice Strong Coffee with lots of attitude, we don't get this one much, but it is always available for special order.
Espresso BlendsEspresso di Binasco This is one of my favorites! Did you know that there is no more caffeine in an Espresso Bean than there is in a regular Coffee Bean? You just use more coffee, finely ground, in a pressure or pump-driven machine to extrapolate all of the flavor of a regular cup of coffee into a small demitasse cup. Our Espresso is some of the best I have ever had, brewed as coffee, Espresso, or in any one of the many other thousands of drink concoctions we serve. Espresso is really the heart of most everything we make, so it pays off to have a good one! Espresso Prima and Pilon These are two other types of Espresso available upon Request. The Prima is an elite Italian style Espresso that is very strong and bitter, just like the Italians love it, it costs a little extra, but I would be happy to special order some for anyone who would like to try it. I also have a package of authentic Cuban/Miami style Espresso that I would be happy to make a drink for you with any time, it goes great with the Cubano!
